REIMAGINING BALUCHARIS
INSPIRED BY THE 19th CENTURY BALUCHARIS
The 19th century signed Balucharis by master weaver Shri Dubraj Das with pallas featuring nawab, warrior, noble men on horseback to intricately woven body with adas to the simple floral butis were unlike anything that were seen in the 20th century. Seen in museums around the world as well as showcased in various exhibitions in India, these sarees with varied designs have always been textiles of interest for us and we draw our inspiration from them.
